THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of cranes and heavy equipment on construction sites and warehouses. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

From $30.00 per hour, based on experience

LOCATION

  • Based out of 1209 North Route 45, Mattoon, IL 61938

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL

  • 8 or 10 hour shift
  • Day Shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekends and Holidays as needed
  • Daily Travel to Scheduled Job Site(s) within the Region
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Operate cranes and boom trucks to lift, move, and place materials as directed.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate lifting operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on cranes and heavy equipment as required.
  • Assist in materials handling, including loading and unloading supplies from trucks or storage areas.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues during operations.
  • Follow all safety protocols while operating equipment on construction sites or warehouses.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proficient in operating cranes, boom trucks, and other heavy equipment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience in materials handling within a construction site environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting while maintaining focus on safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.

EXTRA SKILLS

  • Commercial driving experience is beneficial for transporting equipment when necessary.
  • Capability to dig and prepare sites as needed during project execution.
  • Familiarity with backhoe operation is a plus.
  • Team Player: Works well with others and helps the crew get the job done right.
  • Good Communicator: Can follow directions and ask questions when needed.
  • Takes Pride in the Job Site: Keeps tools and work areas clean, safe and organized.
  • Problem Solver: Able to think on their feet and adjust when plans change.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Shows up every day ready to work and finish the job with care.
