Curry Cares: October Recap
At Curry Construction, giving back to our communities is part of who we are. Through the Curry Cares Community Stewardship Initiative, we’re proud to support organizations that strengthen families, provide opportunities, and create brighter futures across Central Illinois. Let’s take a look at the past month’s engagement, and what’s coming up in November and December!
Celebrate Downtown Mattoon: Trunk or Treat
In October, our Curry Cares efforts continued as we once again partnered with NAC Industries and HLC Fabrication to participate in Celebrate Downtown Mattoon: Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 24 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Broadway Avenue in Downtown Mattoon.
This family-friendly event brought the community together for safe, festive Halloween fun, and we were excited to be part of it. Our theme this year was Construction Under the Sea, which delighted children and families throughout the evening.
Several Curry Construction employees volunteered to help represent the company and assist at the event. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, showcase our company spirit, and have fun while giving back.
Effingham VFW Honor Flight Fundraiser
Curry Construction was proud to help sponsor the Honor Flight Fundraiser held on Sunday, October 26 at the Effingham VFW (2304 S Veterans Dr, Effingham, IL 62401) beginning at 11:00 AM. The Honor Flight program provides veterans the opportunity to visit memorials in Washington, D.C., recognizing their service and sacrifice.
The day featured live music by Benny & The Amigos, London Country Band, The Hip Huggers, and Max Heuerman & the Little Truckers. Guests enjoyed pulled pork, sloppy joes, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, hot dogs, and chips, and participated in raffles and a bake sale, all while helping to honor and support our nation’s veterans.
The event was a wonderful success, and Curry Construction was proud to be part of an effort that celebrates and supports those who have served our country.

Celebrate Downtown Mattoon: Lighted Christmas Parade 🎄
Friday, December 5, 2025 | 5:00–8:00 PM | Downtown Mattoon
Get ready to embrace the magic of the season as Downtown Mattoon transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland for the annual Lighted Christmas Parade! This cherished community tradition brings families and friends together to celebrate the holidays with festive lights, joyful music, and plenty of Christmas cheer.
Enjoy an evening filled with holiday activities and attractions, from visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus to the enchanting reindeer petting area—plus special sales and offers at local downtown shops where you can find unique gifts and décor. Warm up with delicious treats from food trucks and local restaurants as the parade lights up Broadway Avenue.
🎅 Volunteer Opportunity:
We’re looking for volunteers to walk in the parade and help represent Curry Construction, NAC Industries, and HLC Fabrication! This is a great way to show your company spirit, connect with the community, and spread holiday cheer as part of our Curry Cares initiative.
