Due to internal promotion Curry Construction, Inc. is looking to hire a payroll specialist. This position is responsible for collecting timekeeping information, incorporating a variety of deductions into a periodic payroll, and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees.

Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely employee pay processing within the construction company, overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization’s payroll processes. This role entails meticulous attention to detail, adherence to legal requirements, and effective communication with employees and relevant stakeholders. The primary duties of the Payroll Specialist include calculating wages, deductions ensuring timely payments, maintaining payroll records, and addressing any payroll-related inquiries or concerns from employees. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist often collaborates with the HR department to update employee information, process new hires and terminations, and implement changes in payroll policies or procedures. The Payroll Specialist must stay updated on relevant laws and regulations governing payroll practices to ensure compliance and minimize potential errors or discrepancies. Strong organizational skills, proficiency in payroll software, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential traits for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary in processing employment applications
  • Collect, reconcile, and file work orders as PDFs daily.
  • Compare work order information to the timeclock information in the recordkeeping system to produce accurate and timely payroll.
  • Obtain supervisory approval of work order or punch clock discrepancies and report the errors to Quality Control
  • Update payroll records by entering changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, direct deposit information and exemptions.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, as well as company human resources and compensation policies.
  • Process new hire files, terminated associates, and maintain current employee files.
  • Process data entry for pay, garnishments, and employee data changes.
  • Process weekly payroll using Timberline system.
  • Pay weekly child support, track wage garnishments and 401k Employee contributions to supply to AP for proper entry and payment.
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
  • Respond to wage and employment verifications.
  • Scan/File/E-Mail HR documents provided by HR.
  • Support the HR and other office staff, as necessary.
  • Adhere to established policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Completion of employee orientation, as needed.
  • Any associated spreadsheets/reporting

Committed to providing high-quality services to our clients, we are currently expanding our team to meet the increasing demands of our projects. As part of this growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Fencing Estimator and Project Manager to join our dynamic team.

Project Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of project details.
  • Study project specifications to plan construction procedures, including start and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase.
  • Perform daily inspections and testing of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Attend assigned jobs, conduct customer meetings to review project details, and provide updates as needed.
  • Execute fence installations according to NAC specifications, including setting fence poles and pulling fence.
  • Maintain a clean job site, ensuring the removal of debris, and confirm that all equipment is properly loaded onto the truck upon job completion.
  • Clean and restock the truck with necessary materials for the following days’ fence installations.
  • Ensure all materials and equipment are loaded onto the truck before leaving the yard.
  • Supervise a team to complete various types of fencing jobs, providing clear directions and task prioritization.
  • Enforce safety procedures on job sites and communicate and uphold site rules.

  • Inspect work performed by team members, offering constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Take responsibility for all equipment and materials, including work trucks and skid steers.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Forman to monitor project progress.
  • Track and manage inventory of supplies and materials, ensuring timely ordering and delivery to meet production schedules.
  • Provide input in project planning as requested.

Estimating responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Attend pre-bid meetings, perform site assessment, analyze specifications.
  • Assess contract documents, RFI’s, specifications, and proposal data accurately.
  • Check addendums and new project information for any changes to the assigned work.
  • Review construction design drawings or blueprints, conduct field visits and gather all material and data necessary to determine scope of work to organize a construction cost estimate.
  • Prepare and organize material takeoffs for transition to the Project Management Team
  • Optimize job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/subcontractors through quotations for material/services.
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimating database, including current information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
  • Use of professional communication and computer skills, with organization and detail orientation
  • Develop initial bod/project schedule.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CAD experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of fencing experience required.
  • Ability to operate the appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Physically fit and dexterous, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires working from detailed instructions and occasional independent decision-making.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedural manuals.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical operations, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
